 I forgot to mention the people at shows who arrive just as the class is ending and proceed to enter not one, but several horses in that class. They then take their sweet time to warm up, so the horses of their fellow competitors go off the boil.

People with grooms who monopolise the practice fences. That, and after a   poor round, those who come out of the ring and take over the practice fence for school. I hate that.

People whose horse has had a long time off and then expect them to be able to be cantered, galloped and jumped straight away. They have no consideration to the damage they are doing to tendons and ligaments. They can get small tears in them which will end up causing a problem later on in life. That makes me so angry, all because they don't want to put the effort in to get there horse fit properly and take their time over it to ensure the horses legs are ok.

Agree! Or they don't get the poor horse fit enough for the task at hand, so it really strains itself.

Fenris - i agree with yours too!!

My 3 to add to the mix are:

1) Bitchiness - why is the horse world filled with people who have nothing better to do than bitch and backstab and criticise evything that someone else is doing? As long as a person is not physicll or mentally hurting their horse, I don't give two hoots how they do things. They can dress them up in pink rugs, mess around with draw reins, go completely 'au naturale' with their horsemanship, or anything else for that matter. we all have out own way of doing things and it is not for me to criticise...what works for one...

2) People who keep horses that are totally unsuitable for them...I know we love out beasties, but if you have certain ambitions, don't just keep slogging away at a horse that is never going to do. either take a look at your partnership and readdress your ambitions to suit your horse, or bite the bullet, sell your horse to home where his gifts will be b etter apprecaited and look for a horse which is more suited for you.

3) Riders who are unsafe on the road - comes under many guises, including those who don't wear hi-viz (far cooler to be splattered across the bonnet of a car), use their mobile phones, ride double on narrow blind bends, hack with their dogs - fine for those rare few who can control their dogs, but them ajority I haave seen are running free all over the road.

Mmmm to be honest I agree with a lot of you but my top three are:

- Rude riders that dont thank or help drivers when they can, like pulling into a drive way on a blind bend and or waving the driver past if you can see its clear and they cant. We need drivers to continue to slow down and be considerate for ours and our horses safety, and being rude and inconsiderate to them will just encourage them to not be considerate next time they come across a horse on the roads.  

- Using gadgets and equipment for fashion rather than either schooling and training the horse appropriately or using the right equipment in  the right way when and only when it is needed. I have no problem with using equipment as long as it is used correctly in the right way and not abusively.  It also annoys me when people over rug, over clip when it is just not needed. 

- People being rude and inconsiderate in the practice ring, cutting you up, not following the basic rules for riding with others in a school and seemingly being oblivious to any other horse or rider in the arena.  I always try and styay out of others way and time my work so that I dont cut people up but when they consitently turn stright in front of you when they can see you are on a cirlce or perfroming a movement or ask for walk just as they get onto your line when you are in trot really winds me up! I have however discovered that they really dont like it when you play them at their own game and hold your line! What goes around comes around!

1. People who loan horse and bugger them up then return them blaming the horse for not doing something( realy 5 horses later and you still think it is the horse lol)

2. Messy people! (it is called a brush)

3. Kids riding 20 year old ponies into the grave cos it still wins small classes?
