I have a wonderful 15.1hh 15yrs old, coloured Irish Cob, who is brilliant in every way. Ok so I'm biased but he is really great, good to catch, lovely gentle nature and most importantly great fun to ride. He's a very safe ride and will do anything you ask of him. He hacks out alone or in company and is as safe as houses in traffic - at a previous yard he was used to lots of heavy traffic, buses and lorries, etc.

I need someone to help 2/3 days a week, duties to include feeding, turning out, bringing in, mucking out, grooming, feeding, as well as lots of riding. A contribution to his upkeep will be required. I keep him at a DIY livery yard in Claygate, Surrey. Just 10 minutes of quiet roadwork takes you to miles of great hacking and there's always someone at the yard to hack out with if you want. It's a very friendly, helpful yard, we have a large floodlit outdoor school and an even larger jumping paddock with show jumps, cross country jumps and a marked out grass school.

He's a very loving horse who will look after you 110% so I'm looking for the right person, do you fit the bill?

Hi,

i'm 14, turning 15 in March, and looking for something. I live in Claygate too, near Abrook woods/The Swan Inn, where abouts in Claygate is he?

 

I've just out grown my previous pony and now looking for something a bit bigger which i can still have fun on and improve on.  Just wondering, does he jump?

My 13 year old daughter might be looking for a share if your horse is still available - possibly with a friend? We are local (Molesey) and she goes to school in Esher so likely very close to your stables, but though she has been riding regularly for 3/4 years we are not horsey as a family and this is our first foray in the World of shares. Could you advise what sort of costs/contribution is involved?

 Gosh, sounds perfect if you was closer! I can't drive and cycling would take me all day hahaha!

Hi Rachel - Where are you based?  The yard's a walk-able distance from Claygate station and the bus stop is less than a 5 minute walk from the yard.

I just wondered if you had found someone to share Topic - I am currently sharing a pony in Headley but this will be finishing in the next few weeks and want to find another pony for my daughers who are 9 and 10 - the main rider is 9 and has been riding for 5 months and is a confident beginner as am i!  We currently do all the stable duties , Mucking out, making feeds, grooming etc and ride friday, saturdy and every other Sunday but this is only in the school at present until we can get the girls up to cantering - i also share with a friend who has a daughter the same age - we are all very keen and want to learn so would want to get lessons for the girls as well to bring them on.  We are very flexible and happy to help out.

Is it really THAT hard to find a sharer for a genuinely 100% honest boy who's rubbish owner just doesn't have enough time to ride him anymore?!

It's also really hard as a sharer to find a good partnership, so keep looking. I've been looking for a while (too far from you sorry!) but a lot of people seem to be mroe interested in getting money out of you and using their horse to make money, rather than having their horse exercised and looked after by someone. As a student, I can't contribute more than about £80-90 pcm, but I'm really reliable and flexible as no kids/job etc, and I can ride more in the holidays so keeping the horse fit. I'm also a quiet and experienced rider, but they'd rather have someone flappy and kicky who can pay the £150 pcm.  Grr. Rant over sorry!

 Hi - I have been out of the saddle for a while (baby!) and am looking for a sensible ride! 

Ideally it would be a weekend day but can also consider a late afternoon / evening for the right horse and the right expense!
