Hi. You don't say what he eats currently but I was in a similar situation with my 18hh Showjumper. He was only fed a pasture mix but he had an issue with the colourings in it. I also found anything with molasses would set him off. He is currently on a diet of fast fibre, hi-fi good do-er and a balancer along with hay or a high fibre haylage in winter.

I would also suggest trying a magnesium supplement of some kind in case his current pasture is deficient. Something like the NAF MAgic Calmer worked for my boy without taking away his spark. If you still find him a bit lazy you could always try something with slow release energy, or a chaff with a higher oil content like Alfa A.

Is he lazy? thats what they all said about mine.

He was on too much sugary stuff. similar to Insulin resist. look it up.

I cut out all treats, carrots, apples, feeds, haylage, nuts, and all the rest of the junk he was on when we got him. Dont do it too fast.

I introduced him to top speck & within two months he was awake eyes bright etc I could not believe it.

I also had the vet xray him and Hocks had Bone Spavin in them. he was treated for this and is ok now.

He eats Hay, thats it now.

He spooks more if he doesnt get out often. just reasure and he is fine. the trick is to know befor he does when he is going to spook and start the reasuring.

 Heey x I think this is my topic anyways hes fine we just needed to bond nothing serious :D i have added pictures to show hes so good :D and defonatly not slow hes amazing at jump offs x
