Little grey welsh mountain ponies up on our commons. They are so cute, elegant and athletic looking. Unfortunately I am too big for them. I loved to buy an arab or TB soon.

I love gypsy cobs, especially a coloured. A true gypsy cob though that you find the gypsies breed not just any old cobby coloured that get called gypsy cobs. I adore all the feather and mane and tail even though they aren't the easiest to keep clean. I found that out when i bought Bramble and let all her mane grow to where it should be as she got older. It used to take me hours to brush her and it was always worth the effort as she looked fantastic.

Since having Charlie i quite like the Irish sports horse, as he is one. Danser totally put me off tbs even though she is only half tb. She is far too spooky for most people to cope with but i adore her. I've tried before to find a rider for her and no one can cope!!!!

I dislike tb's, especially bays. I don't hate them but they are my least favorite although they can win me over  as i found out with Malcom, a friends ex racer.

Re: Favourite Breed?

I have always had TB and more sporthorse types, really wanted a sec D x TB as my friend has a really nice one.  However I ended up with a full sec D and he is a stunner and a little superstar - yes he was a bit of a handful at first, but he has a great up for everything attitude and I'm a convert!

It's a difficult question to answer. If i had to choose a breed that i wouldn't ride it would be the shire or suffolk punch. But if it was a breed that i ride it would have to be a hunter or  irish/traditional cob.

why not ride shires and suffolks? both wonderful breds but suffolks are a true man's horse! I love tb's, welsh section d. If i was going for another pony with attitude i'd try to find another caspian x welshie!

It has been calculated thay any two thoroughbreds picked at random will on average have more than 13% of their genes in common.

Got to be the Welsh D! Beautiful, intelligent, very cheeky, bags of personality, fiesty and very loveable all at the same time! Mine has been a right handful over the years, but i think he is fab - if i was to get another i would stick with the breed.

Let a horse whisper in your ear and breathe on your heart. You will never regret it. I have seen things so beautiful they have brought tears to my eyes. Yet none of them can match the gracefulness and beauty of a horse running free.
