Re: what breed???

i own two pbw's one has 25% registered blood and the other 12.5% although it should be 75% but unfortunatly her dad was never registered but shes deffinatly the more welshy of the two! i like a bit of pony in my horse as it helps with the jumping and 'waters down' any highly strung horse! however my next horse will be slightly bigger around 16.2hh (both of them are currently 15hh) of warmblood type and pref. coloured or depending on how my little filly does (12.5% one) i will breed from her with a warmblood type enabling me to keep some pony blood :)

as a breed/type i favour m+m's welshies inparticular but not to fond of the sec B as a M+M but as a show pony that'd be my first choice, seconding that would be connie or connie x tb :)

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

I`m the proud owner of a Wuerttemberg mare. She is 19 years old, 16.4 hh, dark bay almost black in winter. She is so sweet natured, not mareish at all, not moody when in season.

Haflingers all the way!  I always find things to moan about but as soon as someone asks what I would get if I had a second horse my answer is still always a haffy!

German warmbloods, particularly the Donnerhall line.. love them! My old man was Oldenburger, but more of the old style, heavier build rather than more refiend. My mare at the moment is Westphalen from the Donnerhall line too!

Never really ridden ponies, always been taught on horses!

Re: what breed???

I like all breeds, i think some behaviour characteristics are carried through in the breeds. When i first started riding i use to love cobs and coloured ones i was so set on buying one. I use to loan part time and when the offer came up to buy the 5 yr old gypsy cob i was so happy at the thought of it. I ended up moving house in the end and didnt end up getting him.  I also went to have a look at a thoroughbred that had come up at  riding stables that i was having lesson on but in the end i didnt get him as he was very underweight and i wanted something that would be good to go.

I decided to look at something more exspensive to compare the difference in prices as some ppl say " you pay for what you get" i also looked at what the horse had done in terms of career.

I went to look at a dutch warmblood cross ,fell in love with him and bought him, had him 7 months now.

My last horse was a Gelderlander, my current mare is a Hanoverian x ISH. My wee mare is a Highland po! :) I'm a fan of Hanoverians and Trakehners, and partial to a Lusitano and Andalusian too!

My friend has a Gelderlander and its beautiful.

I would love a german horse there stunning.

Does anyone watch the sky channel horse and country, last night they had a program on called Under the spell of horses. It was based on horses in Iceland and it was brilliant, had a real big focus on the breeding out there.

Yeah, me too, they look gorgeous I think.

Bracken is an Irish cob, and I must admit that most heavy sorts of breeds are my favourites, anything with feather lol !!
