Please watch out for:

A Maroon ford transit van, year of manufacture 2000 and a dark lorry that are stealing horses from Thirsk, Beverley and have been suscipious near Sunderland. Have already taken 2 coloured cobs and 1 horse from beverley this week.

It is Appleby Horse Fair 2 - 8th June, West Yorkshire police are considering if this may be connected ( Horse and Hound website).

Worried about mine now.

Re: Please watch out for:

Once a horse lorry came to my house the people knew my horses name and also mine and said I had sold my Horse to them and they had come to pick it up to my wife, I was at work at the time she said did not know anything about it and to come back when I was here, guess what they never did and I asked my wife for the lorry reg she could not tell me, the horse they were after was a Gypsy Cob. Also have had a horse box stop and wanted to buy him off me while I was on a hack.

Gypsy Gold does not chink & glitter. It gleams in the sun and neighs in the dark.Tonka & Lara my beautiful horses RIP, Nelson,Chloe & Kitty the cats.

Also quite worried, people have been posting on facebook every other day warning about lorries. I have a coloured too so on red alert! Really hope nothing happens to any of yours or mine or anyone elses!

Re: Please watch out for:

I've also got a coloured and in summer I worry constantly about these things, we use grazing a couple of miles away from the house at a farm.  Last year the field we used was across the road from the farm but this year they are in a field at the back of the house which has no gate onto the road, so they would have to go through the farm to the back to get him, which would cause the farmer's Alsations to go mad, not to mention Rabbie would be out with the shotgun!  I do still worry though, but with all the rain we've been having he's had his rug on constantly which covers up much of his markings.  Also he's a mental traveller so they wouldn't get very far without a major tantrum.

Re: Please watch out for:

Just heard tonight that someone in a subaru vehicle was seen parked near a field in Kilwinning taking pictures of my friend's coloured horse - please all be vigilant in Ayrshire (and beyond obviously).  They made a quick getaway when they saw her coming towards them.

I'm in Douglas and keep my horse at Coalburn.  We have some coloureds at the farm.  Will be extra vigilant (easy access to M74).
