Re: Your horses!
Name: Sharqi
Height: 15.1hh
Age: 26yrs
Breed: Arab
Owned: 25.5yrs (since he was 6 months old)
Description: More then my best freind, he is my very first horse in which i have owned since he was 6 months old in which everyone in the horse world was dead against as i had been riding and around horses (just for my riding lessons) for 6 months (i started to ride when he was two days old) my lessons stopped when i got him as i did not have the money to keep him and have lessons, i had very little help if any at all i learnt from books, mags and by calling out the vet to every little scratch he got so i soon learnt by my mistakes.
When he was 4yrs old i found a riding instructor who tought us both to lunge as well as helped me back him, with the help of my mothers mates in the met police he is not the most bombproof Arab around but he is not a novice ride he is very forward going and still full of charector.
In his time he has done a little bit of everything Dressage, SJ, XC but has most of all Endurance in which we did for 19yrs he got all the way to top level (Advanced level) in which he retired from last season (2010).
He has though had his fair share of illness when he was two yrs (1987) old he had pneumonia, then it went on from there hes had Strangles 1988, was Shot in the face in 1990 in which the bullet is still to this day sat behind one of his back teeth, had Cancer in 1995 which is the result to being shot, Had his right eye kicked out also in 1995 this was done when he was at the vets yard (by his horse) the day he gave me the all clear of his cancer this resulted in having half his skull has had to be re-built, Snapped (to the extent to unrepairable) both front check ligerments in 1999 in which he was off work for 12months with 6 months confind to his stable, then it was 12 months of just and nothing but walking, Then in Feb 2011 he had a stroke which was coursed by his right eye collapsing and putting presure on one of the nervies that runs up to his brain.
He is now back out walking (ridden as he is so strong).
