Re: Your horses!

I really like this post, for some reason

It's lonely in the saddle since the horse died.

Re: Your horses!

Name: Lance

Age: 28 (i think)

Height: 14.2hh

Breed: Unknown

Description:  I part loan him a few days a week, he is a lovely boy, very friendly, has had his moments but he's an all round friendly man!  Loves hacking, and keeps me on my toes when he suddenly decides to spook at random people working on trees in the woods lol!!! but he is very safe.  I have only just got back into riding again after a 10 year break so am still getting confidence back, and he has given me much more confidence and fun than i thought i would have by getting back in the saddle (no pun intended lol!)   he is a gorgeous boy and i couldnt have asked for a better loan pony.

Id id however used to own a 16.1hh bay TB ex-racer gelding who was my first baby, he was brilliant, could do anything with himand an 11.1hh grey Welshe Section A, who was a little bugger, used to nip quite a bit and the occassional kick, he was my second, it took me a year and half to get him out of biting random people lol!!

Re: Your horses!

Name: Sharqi

Height: 15.1hh

Age: 26yrs

Breed: Arab

Owned: 25.5yrs (since he was 6 months old)

Description: More then my best freind, he is my very first horse in which i have owned since he was 6 months old in which everyone in the horse world was dead against as i had been riding and around horses (just for my riding lessons) for 6 months (i started to ride when he was two days old) my lessons stopped when i got him as i did not have the money to keep him and have lessons, i had very little help if any at all i learnt from books, mags and by calling out the vet to every little scratch he got so i soon learnt by my mistakes.

When he was 4yrs old i found a riding instructor who tought us both to lunge as well as helped me back him, with the help of my mothers mates in the met police he is not the most bombproof Arab around but he is not a novice ride he is very forward going and still full of charector.

In his time he has done a little bit of everything Dressage, SJ, XC but has most of all Endurance in which we did for 19yrs he got all the way to top level  (Advanced level) in which he retired from last season (2010).

He has though had his fair share of illness when he was two yrs (1987) old he had pneumonia, then it went on from there hes had Strangles 1988, was Shot in the face in 1990 in which the bullet is still to this day sat behind one of his back teeth, had Cancer in 1995 which is the result to being shot, Had his right eye kicked out also in 1995 this was done when he was at the vets yard (by his horse) the day he gave me the all clear of his cancer this resulted in having half his skull has had to be re-built, Snapped (to the extent to unrepairable) both front check ligerments in 1999 in which he was off work for 12months with 6 months confind to his stable, then it was 12 months of just and nothing but walking, Then in Feb 2011 he had a stroke which was coursed by his right eye collapsing and putting presure on one of the nervies that runs up to his brain.

He is now back out walking (ridden as he is so strong).

Re: Your horses!

Name: Haroon

Height: 16hh

Age: 7yrs

Breed:  Arab

Description: Soppy!

Owned: 6.5yrs (since he was 6 months)

He is the most gentle and relaxed Arab i know he is that laid back that if he was anymore he would fall over.

I got him to carry on from Sharqi with the Endurance but instead he showed more of Dressage potential when we very first backed him he held himself well and in a very natural outline he has always used himself well.

To people who dont know him they dont think he is a PURE Arab as he has a very lazy tail carrage and he is very stocky.

He is showing lots of protential in both Dressage and Endurance.

Re: Your horses!

Name: Harry

Height: 15hh

Age: 4yrs

Breed: Arab

Owned: 3.5yrs (since he was 6 months old)

Description: The Devil Arab who has turned into an Angel!

In his short life he has had to have two blood transfusions due to having a blood disorder which effected his temperment, up until 18 months ago he we couldnt even get in a stable with him let alone lead him but now all this has changed and we are at last getting somewhere.

My plan for him is to back him this summer and bring him on slowly in hope he will be ok for Endurance.

Re: Your horses!

if it will work with the photos

William (Sarah's)- 19  trad coloured cob , now retired from showing, quite a character, cheeky, gentle and safe, had little ones on his back, will put up with anything.  will be your shadow if you have crisps, burgers, anything eatable, kisses from him anytime,   alpha male in herd

Balin (Sarah's) - 4 yrs - chestnut irish sport horse, a youngster sarah is bringing on.  atm  still backing him but will trot under saddle.  can be temperamental but likes his hugs.  photo is the day she bought him, has filled out since then but taken no new ones yet.

Cracker - 8 yrs - pure welsh C -  typical broody mare, spooky, atm playing hard to get.  flirts a lot with the geldings, loves men more than females, likes her hugs - still has her wild tendency

Name: Moelgwyn Sali

Age: almost 14 (born July 26th)

Breed: Welsh Sec C

Height: We don't use hh, so 1.36 m

Description: Sweet, wants to please so badly, gets stressed out if confused or reprimanded, well mannered all the time, but hard to catch, safe but not slow, gets excited when jumping, or other fast stuff, a real bitch to other horses. Sali is the best pony in the world for me, even though she's not flashy or talented, she has other qualities more important to me!

Re: Your horses!

Now have Sabrina after losing Lara due to a twisted gut, Sabrina is a Belgian Warmblood BSJA grade B, 17 years old 16.1h  bought her last September (2011) we are still getting to know each other, she is so frightened of her own shadow but know found somewhere for her to chill out after taking her to a yard where no one fits in especially owners with mares.
