Hurrah, now given the go ahead to look for my own horse

My O/H has now said I can start looking for my "forever" horse. I'm excited to say the least. Now the hard part, looking for the right horse/pony for me. Been trailing the ads, learnt a lot reading adverts. Also get upset wondering where some of the poor creatures will end up. I may be veiwing two this week.  I have a long list of questions to ask, I have a loving home to give. This will be my one and only it will never be sold on, so I have to make sure when I buy it really is the right horse for me.  I am looking for 7yrs to 15yrs,   14-15 hh. I'm only 5ft 1in, wondered if I could get away with a well built 13 hh. I will be mainly hacking out, so it will have to be bombproof, I shall keep on schooling and also top up with lessons to make sure I don't get into bad habits.

More pics. Summer has now settled, she has truely bonded with me, I feel so honoured. We had a tricky start,as she was very agitated when I rode her. A lady came down to help with Meg a girl that was bringing Summer on. To cut a long story short, lunging then into the other field she has settled nicely. The small paddock was rather bumpy and a bit slippy she was like a coiled spring (I thought she may have been too much for me) Now enjoying her son be taking her out on the road hacking.

so glad that she has settled, it's still very early days so you are doing very well with her ! Some horses just are'nt happy about schooling in their paddocks, my friends mare is only 4 years old but would prefer to be out and about, in the field she can be a bit too much !! Good luck with hacking her out, I hope that you have fun togther, Lyn & Tenor X

A catch up on Summer, well I have had her since early April, we are coming along so well. I started to hack her out in June and have met some other ladies to hack out with. She is very good in traffic but can put in the occasional stop, and pretends that someting has spooked her. My confidence has come on so well. We have bonded so much and she calls me all the time when she sees me. We have learned a lot from each other. I have also found out she like to jump, a lady was schooling a young girl on her before I owned her, and said she is quite good. One of my friends whose horse wont jump is going to start her next year. I feel I'm a little old haha. My wrists have strenghened up picking her feet is no problem now, I have also lost over a stone since owning her. Mentally and physically she has done me so much good. I love her too much and hope we have many happy years together.
