My Welsh cob is worth his weight in gold and I love him so much ! What is wrong with some people ? Is it a snobby thing or are they just plain ignorant and stupid ? I agree with Charlotte, if you are a true horse lover then you would'nt discriminate again'st certain breeds. A horse is a horse and there is something good to be found in all of them no matter what breed they happen to be.

Horse and Hound isn't my cup of tea; don't like the content and think it is full of unwise people who think the whole world revolves around competition!

Awh thankies for your lovely comment. He is rather lovely, hairless for the meantime thanks to the clip! Before I got him, I never wanted a cob at all, it was bottom of my list until I met the hairy beast, and he changed my mind completely. I think cobs get such bad reputations for being ploddy kick-a-longs, and in 90% of cobs, this is completely untrue. This thread on HHO was inappropriate and thoughtless, regardless of whether it was meant to spark reaction or not.

I'm going to go against the grain her and say I love HHO. Yes you get some of these threads but they are for a bit of fun. I'm a member there too and trust me we're not stuck up toffs who sip wine and discuss skiing or whatever! The variety of people on there is incredible, people who have ridden around 4* Badminton, SJ/Dressage internationally, Showed at HOYS, Vets, Lawyers, Police officers and plenty of grass roots competitiors and happy hackers.
 

You can ask anything there and get a straight up answer which I think is why some people don't like it. There's no sugar coating there. If you ask for conformation crictic on your horse and its got crappy legs, they'll tell you.

But when things go wrong people band together and results are amazing. A while ago an newbie posted about two horses that were starving and near death asking for help. He had reported them to the RSPCA but as usual nothing was done. Within hours HHO forum members were up with these horses with rugs, food and water and they had arranged for WHW and a vet to have a look at these horses. They were removed, rehabilitated and are now looking fab. They were named Carrot and Spud.

 no i'm not too bothered about brushing shoulders with people who have ridden round badminton either tbh, i knew somebody who was an "eventer" and she was the most stuck up, annoying person i knew who thought the world revolved around her and everybody loved her. turned out, everybody had pretty much the same feelings as me but chose to hide them (unlike me - story of my life). it really doesn't bother me. 

this forum is good for getting answers and i'm sure if there were horses needing rescued then somebody here could do something about it. i think the way they go about things on there and the way they speak to each other is totally inappropriate. there is certainly not any sugarcoating on this forum either, especially when you have people like me, and other members, on here.
