hi, i was wondering what all your thorts were on cotton girth are, and if they are better than leather ones or vice versa. which ones are less likly to cause girth galls / rubs? Thankss xx [;)]

Not sure - like cotton ones better actually - no reason really. But i think that if you use a cover on the girth it will reduce rubbing?

I got a leather girth for my gp saddle, and really love it as did fox, it's so soft and supple. think it's personal preferance, on my dressage saddel i've just got a cheap cottage craft girth and that's fine for that. sam xxx

I've used a "Professional Choice" neoprene girth for a number of years and I wouldn't use anything else now. No rubs or anything and have used it on 2 arabs who are narrow through the girth. I would never use leather again. Zx

I prefer neoprene girths too...they don't rub and are very easy to clean/dry quickly.

I use a thorowgood synthetic one. Very easy to clean and has elastic bits at the buckle. Also cut away at the elbows. I threw away my old cotton one. A nightmare to keep clean and would never dry from previous ride. [:)]

i have a wintec dressage girth really good, elasticated throughout, no rubs but i do have a sheepskin cover on it! i have a cotton girth for dressage cos it was 50p from a tack sale for 2! easy spare, nice n white great bargain hunter me!

we use cottage craft girths because of savvy being sensitive in that area

My guys either have leather or stubben trivera. Depending on job in hand of course, however Eddie gets girth galls so has to stay in his stubben. Gem has 2 stubben triveras, love them. She also has a few leather girths, but id choose trivera over leather now anyday. I even compete with one. - Albeit her white one as it blends in nicely.

Yup thats it! I have 2 browns and a white. 1 was free off stubben rep when we got Berthas saddle, and the other 2 were off ebay :)
