Re: this makes me sick, I barely managed the first minute...
with the the second vid - the one in the uk, its a gun they use...... now people may understand why i wouldnt want any of my horses shot if they had to be put down... this is what would happen, to see my horse drop to the floor and thrash about like that would haunt me forever.... its violent.
my old horse was put to sleep by injection, and he went quickly and quietly,
iv been there when alot of animals - pets - have been out to sleep as i worked in a vets, iv held animals while they have been put to sleep, and i have never seen an injection go wrong.
seeing that vid made me sick, just think of all the stupid over breeding people do, look at all the coloured young cobs for sale everywhere, going for as low as £75 pounds - a meat man would pick these up and off to the slaughter they go.... people who breed for the hell of it need to be shot also, there are LOTS of horses out there wanting homes - people cant sell them, or in rescue centers wanting homes to free more space for the rescue centre to help other horses in need, but no - people want a foal cos its cute.... they dont reailise that they may not have the experience or time and money to keep the foal etc and sell it on....
mass breeding needs to be stopped, look at all the race horses that have been bred - like the vid says - for that one potential winner...
as for all this about 'i wouldnt eat horse, but id eat cow' is very silly..... horses were used as meat as long as cows have been!
iv been on a yard that had cows on it, i used to love watching them interact with each other, they are a solid unit and its rare to see and violence within a heard.. u watch horses and they do squabble alot!
cows are fab animals and if i had a holding number, lots of land etc i would have ALL farm animals as pets, they are just the same as horses, just people never give them the time of day unless they are on your plate or you can get a ride off it..
