Which do I sell ???

hey, Ive just found out that our full livery is leaving which means really have to sell one of my horses. I wont be selling Taffy :) But im going to have to sell Kimba or Tippy. I dont really do much with either of them.

Tippy is a 12.1hh, bay, mare. she is broken to ride and drive but is not novice ride. Loves jumping but her favourite is driving, she will drive round the lanes for hours. Excellent in traffic. She loves doing obstacles so not really for novice driver.

OR

kimba is a 15.1hh, bay, unreg tb, mare. She has never really been broken properly and was used on the gallops make racehorses faster. bred foal. Needs to be started again. lunges well, good extended trot and excellent in traffic.

Really need your help???

Think you may find it harder to sell Kimba but you have to sell the one that you know you can part with.

hey, first of all, how comes your having to sell ?

Personally, if i had the choice, i think i'd keep Kimba, but then again, its up to you, it must be hard, but its your choice, nobody can decide that for you, shame that this has to happen ''/

i hope this works out for the best

Hey, Ive not really got time for all of them. Its not fair on them and I cant really afford to keep 3 :(

Im going to struggle to part with either of them, sold tippy once but got her back. Ive only had kimba a year. Just wanted your opinions??
Thanks Lucie

I think you'll definately find it easier to sell Tippy cos she's done a bit more and also you'll probably get more money for her then Kimba, sorry to sound so blunt. It must be a heart breaking decision but go with your gut instinct. x

Re: Which do I sell ???

It all depends on how quickly you need to sell either of them, if you need to sell quickly Tippy sounds like she would sell faster, if you don't then Kimba would find a new home one day.

Have you thought about loaning one out instead? So you don't have to get rid of either. Maybe Kimba would benefit from someone who only has her to look after and therefore have time to bring her one and give her the extra attention she needs.

Just a thought. Hope your decision doesn't cause too much stress! It must be heart breaking for you.

Re: Which do I sell ???

It depends on how much your looking to get for them, ponys sell well there are kids out there that are looking for non LR ponies if yours is good to drive then you maybe able to get a driving home like for scurrying or trials. as for your bigger horse someone may like a project specially if she is young. But then if your like me you will be woundering if they get sold on and if they do will they be happy and ok.

Are you selling mainly due to the fact your full livery is going??

If this is the case why dont you loan them at your yard here you can still see them and if poss help out with them, I know what you mean about time for more then one horse i feel the same specially with 5 of them and working a 42hr week (shifts which is worse).

Why dont you put a loan ad as well as for sale ad up and see what happens.

Re: Which do I sell ???

hi, Thanks for your advice :) Im selling because the livery as I wont be getting much money to help pay for them. Im at sixth form now so havent got a job now livery will be leaving. And I just havent got the time to look after all 3 of them. I could never sell Taffy. Ive also got to pay for driving lessons and a car so would rather sell. This is a really hard desision as kimba came in a bad state and she has improved alot and ive had tippy so long. Sold her once before and got her back.

Could someone give me an idea of price for either of them as I have no idea ?

You could always sell Kimba as a broodmare?  That would probably make her easier to sell.  I dont know how old she is but as shes unregistered you maybe only get £800-£1000 for her depending on her conformation and temperament.

Dont know about pricing wee ponies Im afraid.
