Deary me - this is what gives us teenagers a reputation..I can honestly say I am nothing like this :D seeing as I mainly walk everywhere on the roads and have little trots....I generally just ride out with my dad walking (this is soon to change :D) so its calm and i thank all the dirvers etc..so i am a good teenager :)

but i know what you mean...we encountered a girl about my age cantering up and down the verge repeatedly - she overtook me and a jumpy philly at a speedy trot and left me and philly in her wake disbelieved and me with a pony fighting to go too!! Everyone should have respect for other road users!!

Horses are like chocolates; you can't just have the one!

theres always the select few who ruin it for people. :( Im 14 and honestly have to go out hacking with my riding instructer because my mum and dad think its safer and if she tells me to do some goodness me I do it. I mean... come on its silly to be a prat when your outside, putting others at risk :/

Unfortunately it seems every yard has at one time or another had a reckless teenager. Luckily there aren't any at the yard where I keep my girl and boy atm but in the 10 years I've been there we've certainly had them! There was one mouthy girl who you'd always hear screaming down the yard at her Dad and she would bring horses in from the paddock using just a leadrope slung loosely around their neck, then hit them when she couldn't control them properly (that made me mad !) Once when my Dad went on a hack with her she cantered her horse downhill on a slippery, rocky, uneven path. That's just downright dangerous!

im a teenager im 16 and i have a 16 hh tb and a 14hh sec D and i am not like this atall though, but i know people who are they dont care they try and make me ride out with them but i never do because all they do is mess around the are stupid and dont care what they are doing, they all call me boring just because when i take out my horse or pony i dont go with them normally i go with my mum or on my own. They also jump around all the time and are really rough with there horses and i hate it but i dont like the fact that people think everyone my age is like that but we are not! i wish they would stiop getting teenage riders a bad name.

I'm 17 Almost 18 And I Dont Do That I Have Consideration For Other Road Users And My Pony, She Enjoys A Good Gallop But It's On A Bridle Path Only. Those Kids Need A Good Seeing To!

I Do My Pony By Myself, Like Tack Her Up Etc, I Wont Let Anyone Else Do It !

Giving teenagers a bad name i think all irresponsible teenagers should have horses taken off them. I know People that like galloping on concrete. I refuse to ride with them. The funny thing is they are 30 year old adults. It's not just the teenagers. Adults as well! x

RE:

ehh...teenagers! I am only 16 myself but I honestly cannot stand most of the girls that come on the scene at our yard. It makes my bloody boil at how some youngsters treat their horses and often other people too. We had one girl of about 14 who used to leave her horse for 12 hours with nothing to eat :S and when she used to ride it she would just jump on it, jump it into the ground and it really tried hard for her. And it would jump superbly but she would still smack it because it used to get a bit excited. Another girl i knew would hit her horses for no reason and jab then in the mouth. In the end one of her horses couldnt stand anything near it's head and she sold it. Arrghh...Some people...that's my little rant

xx RIP Fenny- You gave me so much happiness and so many great memories xx

Hmm thats so sad :( I hate it when people don't treat their horses properly. Some people just seem to think they know it all especially when you try to correct them!

There were 2 girls at the yard messing about near the cars.  The pony spooked and so they ran after it, screeming, while there was a beginners lesson just mounted!  Luckly they got a telling off but i cannot understand how you can be so stupid!
