Yes I've had many falls over the past few years! There is usually a two week laspe between The Spring grass growing and me cutting out Fires shortfeed. When he becomes like riding a pony fed sugar and e numbers! coupla years ago i fell off 4 times in 2 weeks. 1) stupid flappy filler he ran out at. 2) Same stupid filler in a different place, fell on a metal dustin i was usin as a jump wing [xx(] 3) jumped a fence as lorry let off its breaks he took us chargin for the road, couldn't pull him up, stirrup came away & I fell out the side door and he went shootin up the inside of the hedge. 4) lost a stirrup jumping, went top speed round the field, couldn't regain it/slow him and eventually hit the floor! I gave up jumpin that year and bannished all the jumps to the shed. started again start of last year by jumping a lil jump bout 8 inches high on new years day and have built it back up since. it seems silly now but i felt like i'd climbed a mountain. definatley gonna get lessons. I don't tend to feel so bad when i'm doing it its anticpation that gets me. ie morning of. If im going to a show im usually sick! nerves are so bad. What are the relaxation techniques? They sound interesting.

thats not good! put loads of music on and sing as much as you want, it helps! also, give yourself loads and loads of time to go and get ready, its better when your not rushed. dont overface yourself, and picture going clear and getting a nice rosette! Take a friend to a few shows too, so you have someone to natter with and who can help out! xx

Yeah Im a bit of a wimp when it comes to jumping..had a few bad experiences with my aunts TB! The jump with the blue wings...thats my sort of size lol Fern is fab though! Considering she is only 5 she has given me so much confidence already! She also has a bit of a fetish for running out LOL But I have worked it out now and can feel when she is gonna do it so I can stop her! You do look a bit tall for him..but not nowhere near too big! You look great together! And yeah I was thinking of the smile bit before I read everyones replies lol you look terrified! If you are nervous while riding just sing or hum to yourself. It also keeps you breathing as most people (myself included) forget to breathe when they are nervous! And I agree to take a good friend to shows with you will help you relax...and plus they can be your slave and run to the burger van for you!![:D]

you look fab, but definitely smile and have a little sing while you're going round. Do something you can repeat, one you know really well, i like row row row your boat! Personally they look a bit big for me...i like the mini brush table thingie, nice n little! You're much more confident than I am, well done! More piccies please! Definitely take a friend, they can tell you when you're due in the ring, pick up dropped whips, run back to the trailer for you, etc. [:D] good luck [:D]
