Tryng to trace a horse's history

We purchased a horse that was an expolo horse. She was injured during the season and was as unfortunately is the case sometimes was sold at auction. We think she maybe Argentine Thoroughbred but are not sure. She does not have a lip tattoo as is common with US thoroughbreds. She is branded however. She has a S with an upwards arrow thru it on her left hip and on her rump she has te numbers 4 onone side of her tail and 703 on the other. She is approximately 5-7 years old. We love her to death and are turning her into a trail riding horse, but we are very curious to try to find her origns. She was shown in the US but we think she was imported.....

Any help on the brand would be helpful.

Re: Tryng to trace a horse's history

Hi, I too am desperately trying to find out history on my ex polo pony.  She is also branded 6 on left side of her tail and a 3 on the right.  I think she may have come from Venezuela, but not sure.  I hope you have success in your search. Sharon x

If it wasnt for horses, Id be soooo rich, but soooo miserable!

Thanks for your well wishes. This is a hard thing  to track because you really don't even know the breed. Ugh!!! I hope you many more years together. Happy trails!

Re: Tryng to trace a horse's history

Have you checked with anyone in the US about your polo horse. Try contacting the Aiken, South Carolina polo association. We have contacted each state with the exception of Texas which is on a county level with brand registries.... They have a lot of polo there, and the gentleman that responded to me is passing her pictures around polo matches for me. He told me that her brand was definitely from Argentina. He was very knowledgeable about polo ponies and super nice to us. So we are getting closer to finding out the rest of her story.  Good luck!!!
